Christmas Cryptids the three wise men and an unidentified flying object?

Christmas fast approaches as we have fun at festive parties and frantically try to finish those last minute gift purchases, and I have my gift to you.
A compilation of three strange Christmas tales.
I have the familiar story of the nativity but with a UFO twist, and a couple of Christmas Cryptids that you might just have to watch out for this festive season.
First up, we must remember that there is a story behind all the fun.
Christmas is after all Christ’s mass the celebration of the birth of Jesus.
It is a story that will be told in Nativity plays across the world, the familiar tale of Mary and Joseph and their trip to Bethlehem.
One part of the story that may have a little more to it is that of the three wise men.
There have long been suggestions that religious figures have links to UFOs and alien contact, from Ezekiel and the well-known depictions of flying saucers in many religious paintings.
Could there be an extraterrestrial element to the Christmas the story?
Were the three wise men lead to the birthplace of Jesus by an unidentified flying object?

The story that we all know tells of how the three wise men or “Magi” as they are otherwise known followed an ancient prophecy, this prophecy told that a star would appear in the sky and that they could follow it to find the new King of all mankind.
This is when ufologist make the claim that it is possible that these Magi were being guided by an extraterrestrial influence to Bethlehem the birth place of Jesus of Nazareth.
This idea may seem a little out of left field but it does make sense, especially if you think that god or the gods of old were visitors from another world.
An idea that many think to be correct.
Ufologist Reinaldo Rios points to texts from the apocryphal gospels such as in the following text, that he claims clearly indicates an otherworldly origin.
Reading the Apocryphal Gospel of James it says: “Upon arrival at the grotto they stopped (refer to Joseph and the midwife), and behold, it was shaded by a luminous cloud. Suddenly, the cloud began to withdraw from the grotto and shone in such a great light that our eyes could not resist. This, for a moment, began to decline until it appeared the Child “.
“And at that time that the star, which they saw in the east, went back to guide them until they reached the cave, and landed on the mouth of it.
Then the magicians saw the child with his mother Mary and brought gifts of their treasures of gold, frankincense and myrrh. ”
This Gospel of James is compelling evidence pointing to an otherworldly presence in ancient times. Says Rios.
The ufologist also highlights the presence of “Angels” which he thinks is the unmistakable presence of Aliens attending the birth of Jesus.
It does also explain how the star could move with the men as they travelled and insure that they found the messiah in his crib.
There has over the centuries been many links between Jesus and extraterrestrials, there are historical text kept at the Morgan Library and Museum in New York City which suggest that Jesus was some type of alien shape shifter.
In these books It is written that at the time of the betrayal by Judas; the Jews said to Judas: ‘How shall we arrest him (Jesus)?
For he does not have a single shape but his appearance changes. Sometimes he is ruddy, sometimes he is white, sometimes he is red, sometimes he is wheat coloured, sometimes he is pallid like ascetics, sometimes he is a youth, sometimes an old man’.”
There are also Coptic writings that support the same story, the text says how Pontius Pilate was eating with Jesus the evening before the crucifixion. It reads “Well then, behold, the night has come, rise and withdraw, and when the morning comes and they accuse me because of you, I shall give them the only son I have so that they can kill him in your place.”
Jesus responded to this by saying: "Oh Pilate, you have been deemed worthy of a great grace because you have shown a good disposition to me."
Jesus then supposedly showed Pilate that he could escape by shape-shifting!
If he wanted
Another anomaly in this story is that there may well have been more than three Magi.
According to some writings they indicate that in addition to the well-known bearers of gold, frankincense and Mir, there may have been a fourth carrier of gifts.
The three Magi went by the names Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar however according to two men a Henry van Dyke and astronomer Mark Kidger from the ESAC – the European Space Astronomy Centre there was a fourth going by the name Arbatan, who got lost on the way.
This wise man became lost after following the wrong star and According to an article written by Marguerite Theophil on ‘speakingtree.in’ :

In the mountains of ancient Persia, lived Artaban, whose study of the planets and the stars led him to predict the birth of the King of Kings. He sold his house and every possession and purchased a large sapphire blue as a fragment of the night sky, a flawless ruby redder than a ray of sunrise, and a lustrous pearl as pure as the peak of a snow mountain at twilight — which he intended to carry as tribute to the King. He then set out for Jerusalem where he had arranged to meet up with three other wise men, or Magi, to find the newborn.
After many weeks of difficult travel and frustrating delays, one night, he saw a man lying on the road. His haggard face, pallid skin and laboured breathing, bore the mark of the deadly fever. But, as he turned to leave, the man begged for help.
Artaban hesitated. If he lingered to minister to a dying stranger even for an hour, he could miss his three friends. But if he left now, the man would surely die. He turned to the sick man and carefully attended to him, leaving with him all that he had left of bread and wine, and his store of healing herbs.
“I have nothing to give you in return,” said the grateful man, “…only this: our prophets have decreed that the Messiah will be born in Bethlehem, not in Jerusalem. May the Lord bring you in safety to that place, because you had pity upon the sick?
The Magi arrived at the famous stable three day later than the other wise men so his gifts of rubies and pearls would never become part of so many Christmas songs and plays.
So what do you think was the guiding star really a mysterious UFO?
Was there a fourth wise man, maybe if there was he should be given his special day 3 days after Christmas?
On to the next story and Continuing with the Christmas vibe.

Elves are as Christmassy as it can get, they help old Saint Nick with the building of toys and help take care of his hoofed delivery system.
People often claim to have seen the Jolly red man and even reports of his flying four legged friends have been given. So what about the elves have they been spotted, well possibly!

As we work our way down a list of Christmas characters we come across a sighting of a Christmas Elf or was it possibly an Alien?
Let’s set the scene.
In the winter woods of Derry, a place that Steven King made famous with the scary clown Pennywise. Near Christmas, December 15th of 1956to be exact.
On a cold December day a local man named Alfred Horne was out in the woods searching for a tree to chop down take home and decorate, the day was short as is normally the case in winter and as the sun was getting low in the sky a strange feeling was growing in the chilly early evening air.
The feeling of not being alone began to grow in the man.
As he began to cut a tree he felt himself being watched, this when he turned to see a bizarre small human like creature looking at him.
This little humanoid stood at a height around two feet it had a large head with large pointy ears, it had some strange facial features, instead of a nose there were two slits, its eyes also had nictitating membranes like those of a snake. If these things didn’t make the creature look odd enough then its bright green color did. To add to this was the fact that it was naked and had very short limbs and feet that were lacking digits.
This interaction went on for around twenty minutes or so, this was until the man thought it would be good idea to attempt to capture the creature. He thought that no one would believe his story unless he returned with the elf like animal in tow. He crept toward the entity and then grabbed it, the thing let out a series of blood curdling screams. These screams were so loud they scared Alfred who dropped his axe and ran.

So what could this creature have been, considering the time of year and the fact the man was felling a Christmas tree could it have been one of Santa’s little helpers wondered down from the north pole?
Maybe another forest cryptid like a pugwudgie or gnome?
The man didn’t think that what he had seen was an elf, instead he thought that it was a being from another planet. The man kept the incident secret for nearly six years. He broke his silence by writing a number of letters to astronomer and UFO investigator Walter Webb.
This story and letter can be found in Joseph Citro's Passing Strange.
So we have to ask if this creature was an alien or an elf.
Well how about if it were both.
I have long thought that many fairy creatures and creatures of fantasy could be extraterrestrials, the idea that they are magical beings is because of the time these stories were written. As Arthur C. Clarke said “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”
The descriptions of these humanoid like animals often matches well with the appearances of the entities reported in a close encounter of the fourth kind.
Christmas is a time of year that has been associated with extraterrestrials before. The idea that angels and other biblical characters were really aliens has been proposed by a few ufologist
There have been many sightings of elf, gnome, and fairy like beings reported for centuries and they are still being seen today.
Are these little beings visiting us from another planet or are they native to the earth?
One thing is for sure it would seem that they have always been here watching us and over the centuries possibly interacted with humanity this giving rise to the many myths and legends and who know maybe they have organized themselves into a society and maybe that community is headed by a larger man in a red suit?
Have you heard of any good elf sightings, what do you think Alfred Horne saw deep in the woods while searching for his Christmas tree?

The final story this Christmas themed video, is a cryptid that’s name is a bit of a mouthful.
Like the Christmas elf spotted by a man in the Derry forest, this creature is a small humanoid type being but with some differences.
Let’s take a look at the little festive creature and see what we are dealing with.
Right, here we go, this is name I am going to crucify “Kallikantzaroi” (cali-cant-ziros)
The Kallikantzaroi is a festive little beastie that is said to emerge from its underground home for the twelve day of Christmas.
Clement A. Miles writes in his book Christmas in Ritual and Tradition, Christian and Pagan.
“Of all supernatural Christmas visitors, the most vividly realized and believed in at the present day are probably the Greek Kallikantzaroi or Karkantzaroi. They are the terror of the Greek peasant during the Twelve Days; in the soil of his imagination, they flourish luxuriantly, and to him [peasant], they are a very real and living nuisance,”
These creatures could be compared to a goblin with the exception of their hairy body’s long tail and hooved feet.
They share many characteristics with vampire and werewolf lore, they can shape shift appearing half-beast and half-human and possess evil looking glowing red eyes. It is even said that some men, especially those born around Christmas, can morph into Kallikantzaroi.
Considered mischievous, the Kallikantzaroi are common to many cultures. There are stories of them from Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Turkey, and Bosnia.
These countries tell of an imp that is responsible for many bad events that can occur over the festive season most notably between Christ’s birthday and Epiphany on Jan. 6.
The twelve days the “Kallikantzaroi” run free are said to be far from a joyous time that is associated with yule time. The Greeks had a saying that it wouldn’t be hard to confuse the Twelve Days of Christmas with the Twelve Days of Hell.
So is there any way you can protect yourself from these naughty, some may see mildly evil little characters?
A good place to start would be to grab yourself a bunch of Basil and nail it to your door, hang a wooden cross in your home and place a bowl of water somewhere near the entrance to the abode.

So where did they come from and why are they only coming above ground at Christmas?
The legends say that the Kallikantzaroi live underground so that they can continually chop away at the roots of the world tree. The world tree being, Yggdrasil the immense mythical tree that plays a central role in Norse cosmology, where it connects the Nine Worlds.
By bringing the tree down the Kallikantzaroi would bring an end to the world. However as they reach the final parts of the trees roots Christmas arrives and they forget their task and make their way above ground to cause trouble.
The mischief ends on the 6th of January when the sun once again begins to move and the Kallikantzaroi must go underground again to continue their sawing.
Had you heard any of these stories before what do you think of the little humanoid cryptids are they hiding in the woods and do the appear in the winter months?
